As telecommunications networks evolve to support next-generation public safety and critical communications, the transition from traditional Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems to broadband-based Mission Critical Services (MCx) has become essential. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the MCx domain, covering Mission Critical Push-To-Talk (MCPTT), MCVideo, and MCData—core functionalities that enhance emergency response, public safety, and enterprise-critical operations. It will discuss how MCx prioritizes critical communications to ensure low latency and high reliability. It will also cover key aspects of MCx implementation, including deployment strategies for both on-premise and cloud-based environments.

Built on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture, MCx services leverage advanced LTE and 5G capabilities to provide seamless and reliable communication. Participants will explore the MCx Logical Architecture, including key components such as the Session Border Controller (SBC) for security and interoperability, the Media Resource Function (MRF) for media processing, and the Common Services Core (CSC) that ensures efficient service orchestration across different platforms.

Key focus areas of the course include end-to-end security in MCx, such as encryption and authorization protocols, MC Identity Management Server (IdMS) for authentication, the Group Management Server (GMS) for user coordination, and the Key Management Server (KMS) to ensure secure communications. Additionally, participants will learn about Group Dynamic Configuration (GDC), enabling flexible and real-time group adjustments, and Short Data Services (SDS), which facilitate low-latency messaging in mission-critical scenarios.

Designed for telecom professionals, public safety agencies, and network operators, this course equips participants with the knowledge needed to deploy, manage, and optimize MCx Common Services. By the end of the training, attendees will have a strong grasp of how these technologies enhance coordination and situational awareness for emergency responders, military operations, transportation, and critical infrastructure sectors.
