Voice over LTE (VoLTE) Workshop
Course Overview
This course provides participants with a good technical understanding of the different types of LTE voice endorsed by 3GPP and the LTE industry. It will cover in depth the procedural call flows and network optimization steps that are required to deliver high performance and quality voice services. The course also will cover Wi-Fi Calling (VoWiFi), its call flows, handover, and performance optimization for a holistic and uniform packet-based voice service.
Target Audience
- Radio and Packet Core Engineers, Managers, and Project Managers
- IP Engineers
- Technical Product Managers
- Technical Marketing Officials
- Technical Strategy Officials
Duration & Training Format
- Classroom: 5 days
- LIVE Virtual*: 35 hours
- A minimum of 6 or more participants are required for a company-based LIVE Virtual course to commence
- LIVE Virtual courses can be conducted for 5 hours or 7 hours daily. Please note that the number of training days will be extended if you opt for 5 hours daily.

Course Objectives
The course describes in-depth the technological solutions and standards that will enable the migration of telephony services (Voice and SMS) to LTE/EPC networks.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand and describe VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling
- Understand the EPC/SAE architecture and its components in relation to VoLTE
- Describe SRVCC and its evolution
- Describe how IMS works and how is it related to Voice delivery
- Describe E2E signalling of SIP, VoLTE and VoWiFi
- Understand how to plan and optimize LTE & EPC to deliver VoLTE
- Understand how to engineer both LTE and Wi-Fi for best possible VoLTE/VoWiFi Quality of Experience (QoE)
Key Benefits
After successful completion of the course, participants will be proficient enough to design, plan and optimize a best-in-class VoLTE service that satisfies the current and future market requirements.
